WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

​

Once you or the person in question is safe. There are some important types of services which may exist in your area and the professionals (e.g. your GP), may discuss with you:

​

  • Early Intervention Services (EIS) / Early Intervention in Psychosis Services (EIP / EIPS): provide support to people experiencing their first episodes of psychosis. Some services are only for those in a certain age range (usually 35 on the upper end).

 

  • Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs): Support people in the community who are experiencing mental illness.

 

  • Crisis Teams / Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) teams: support people at home who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

  • Psychiatric Liaison Teams provide psychiatric assessments within hospitals.
