Andie Clare DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION
aboutus
Team Human are the only FAA training provider in the UK for Mental Health training in TV & Film. We are also the only company who provide an OFQAL academic Qualification in Mental Helath First Aid and Awareness.
Our aim is to educate your production and management teams in identifying and dealing with common mental health disorders.
Our courses uniquely frame mental health within the context of the creative workplace. In particular, we acknowledge the specific risks and stresses that creative teams can face.

Such as long hours, short contracts, exposure to emotional and physical trauma and much more.

As well as staff, we address how programme makers are increasingly faced with dealing with the general public and often vulnerable and sensitive contributors. We often do not consider their livesafter filming. The sudden loss of support and the subsequent impact of loneliness.

The way we work has evolved but the industry hasn't .
Social media is now key to programme making. However, with it, social media brings cyberbullying, trolling, distressing content and imagery which are not regulated nor monitored.

Therefore, an understanding of how to spot potential mental health issues is crucial.
We have devised a simple care plan, that will allow your team to feel more confident in starting a conversation with those struggling.
As well as information for signposting them to get help.

First aid is mandatory for every workplace, we believe mental health first aid should be no different.

We are proud to have trained staff from some of the UK and USA's biggest production companies and hope to add you to our list soon.

BESPOKE MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING FOR TV AND FILM
ABOUT ME
I have the unique combination of being a TV producer and a fully qualified Psychotherapist a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and a Screen Skills mentor.

I also write children's books and over 250 schools worldwide have used my lesson plans in primary schools to educate young people in mental health and learning about the neuroscience behind their feelings and emotions.
After over a decade of working in the TV and Film industry, I have witnessed first hand the increased pressures on employees and the impact of the stress.
From staff jobs being replaced with unpredictable freelance contracts to tightening budgets causing multiple job skills to be condensed into single job roles
Naomi Harvey HPD SFH, MNCH ( Acc) NCP (Acc) BA Hons
The increase in independent production companies has led to HR departments being scrapped and there is a lack of proper support for both staff and contributors well-being.

I established Team Human as a way to remind us all that whatever our 'title' we are ultimately just human. We do the best we can with what we have and I hope to help add mental health awareness to that skill set.
